New HRSS Client – Municipality of North Perth

As Payroll/Benefits Administrator for the Municipality of North Perth, Jenn Robinson wears several hats.  One of those hats involves maintaining the personnel files for the nearly 300 employees, including volunteer firefighters and seasonal staff.  Up until now, that was done by a combination of paper files, spreadsheets, and Word documents.  Keeping records on training and health & safety, among others, up to speed was a laborious and time-consuming exercise.

Ms. Robinson was introduced to info:HR through her contacts at the County of Perth – North Perth is a “lower tier” municipality within the County, which has been using info:HR since May, 2009.  She reviewed the software via a web demo conducted by HRSS staff, then arranged an on-site demo to expose senior management to the application.  She was given the approval to develop a business case and presentation for Council, which granted her the approval to proceed with implementation.  Ms. Robinson will be setting up all employee records in info:HR, as well as linking to the payroll system to allow HR and attendance data to be migrated automatically from one to the other, eliminating an annoying source of duplicate data entry.  The new system is expected to be fully up and running by January 1, 2011.

The Municipality of North Perth, population 12,250, is located in the northern part of Perth County.  Consisting of the former townships of Wallace and Elma and the Town of Listowel, the new Town combines the best of small urban and rural environments.  Its proximity to the twin cities of Kitchener-Waterloo provides the added benefit of big-city luxuries within minutes.  Visit http://www.northperth.ca for more information.
